I’m the sort of skittish driver who will take three right turns in order to avoid an annoying left turn at a difficult intersection, so Waze’s new feature is just for me. If you live in LA, the navigation app can now reroute you around those pesky intersections with bad visibility and other problems.
- They call it a “hyperlocal” issue, and for now the feature is only available in LA. Some intersections lack proper lights, are too crowded, require you to cross multiple lanes of oncoming traffic, or are just badly designed, and the new feature hopes to offer navigation suggestions to help you avoid these difficult and dangerous intersections. Waze plans on adding more cities later on. [Waze]
- In other news, iOS 10 has already been jailbroken. There isn’t even a public beta yet, which means there is plenty of time for Apple to patch whatever exploit iH8sn0w managed. The last version of iOS you can otherwise jailbreak with the Pangu tool is 9.0.2. [The Next Web]
- Microsoft is going to make it easy to do a fresh install of Windows 10 if your computer is bogged down with unwanted bloatware. A new tool currently testing with Windows Insiders does just that: it installs a clean copy of Windows and removes anything that came pre-installed on your PC. [Windows Experience Blog]
- Starbucks for Outlook can help you easily set up meetings at your local Starbucks. Hey, that’s not even a bad idea if you frequently have meet-and-greets outside your office for whatever reason. But I’d be a little concerned to be the recipient such an invitation if its laden with a bunch of Starbucks logos. [Office Store via The Verge]
