If you’re the sort of person who like to live on the edge—the edge of the map, let’s say—there’s now an easy way to access early features that are still in development for Google Maps on Android.
- Google Maps now has a beta channel in the Play Store. There isn’t anything obviously new in the beta right now, but if you’re the kind of person who wants to try the latest features before they’re ready for primetime,
then you can sign up to test the beta here. [Android Police] - Facebook is shutting down its Notify app. If you’re not sure what that is, here’s a notification: you’re not alone! Notify was an app launched a little less than a year ago that let you subscribe to push notifications from publishers with an emphasis on breaking news and timely info. It was probably just an experiment, given that Facebook never really pushed it very hard. [The Verge]
- Apple has rereleased the recent iOS 9.3.2 update specifically for 9.7-inch iPad Pros. The update had reportedly been bricking that particular tablet so Apple briefly pulled the update until a fix was in place. And now it works. [9to5Mac]
- 1Password has launched 1Password for Teams. As the name suggests, it’s a way to manage passwords for a whole team of people. An admin can control who has access to what and easily share or revoke password vaults. Pricing starts at $4.99 per month for the standard plan or $14.99 per month for their professional plan with more options. [1Password]
- Windows Insiders running the latest prerelease of Windows 10 AND Windows 10 Mobile can now sync notifications from Windows Phones to their desktop. If you have all the necessary components and software to do that, then you are certainly gung-ho for Windows, my friend. [Windows Blog]
