Happy Friday the 13th. Triskaidekaphobic paranoia not withstanding, you’ve made it to the weekend. Or have you? There are more hours in the day. Just kidding, relax, and try programming an Amazon Dash button to order a pizza.
- Amazon is selling a limited run of “blank” programmable Dash buttons. They’re designed to work with ‘Internet of Things’ devices (smart home junk) using Amazon Web Services, so you could program it to turn on your lights or queue Netflix on your smart TV, for example. In other words, it’s a button with Wi-Fi and it’s up to you to make it do anything. [Amazon via Popular Science]
- Would you like Instagram’s old icon back? Then you really don’t deal well with change, do you. That’s okay. Here’s a way to restore the icon to its previous skeuomorphic splendor. [BGR]
- Verizon is increasing the data limit on prepaid phone plans. Starting May 15th, you can get 3GB for $45 or 6GB for $60, increased from 1 and 3GB respectively. [Verizon via The Verge]
- You can now share PDFs on WhatsApp web client. Heck yeah! I’m gonna drop hot docs in chats all weekend long. [Android Central]
- Push-to-talk app Roger just got a slew of new integrations that can put your voice to work. You can now drop audio memos in Slack, Dropbox, and more, as well as talk to Amazon’s Alexa. They’re calling it a “voice platform.” Talking to Alexa is particularly notable, since you don’t even need to own an Echo. [Roger]
