Make Quick, Easy Filled Omelettes in a Panini Press

Omelettes are delicious, and if you have a panini press (or even a waffle iron) on hand, you can use it to make fast, easy omelettes.

Heat your panini press and lightly coat it with oil so your omelette doesn’t stick. Once it’s nice and hot, pour your omelette mixture onto the press. The key is to start at the top, close to where the top and bottom of the press meet. Don’t pour the mixture all the way down to the bottom of the press: you want to leave room for it to drip down. Catch any excess dripping eggs in the gutter, and close the press to evenly cook both sides of your omelette. When it is done, roll it off the press and onto a plate.

If you want to stuff it with something like cheese, sprinkle the cheese on top while your omelette is hot. As you roll your omelette off the press, the cheese will be cradled inside and melt into gooey goodness. While this doesn’t look like a traditional omelette, you’ll get quick and tasty results with minimal mess, and it’s much easier to roll (especially when stuffed with delicious cheese or other fillings) than in a pan.
