Humans are considered one of the busiest and stressed species of planet earth. Our day begins with scheduling agenda’s, balancing accounts, hailing cabs, brewing coffee or yelling at our children. Often we are in a rush to the next meeting or the next pit stop. We failed to observe the essence of life; however, our furry animals bring a new meaning to our lives.
Having a pet especially a cat around the house makes you look forward to the following day. We wake up with the warm purr next to our face and that innocent face demanding food. Emotionally our lives are impacted by their presences, as we feel responsibility and love towards another being.
However as their love to us is shown usually by dropping off a dead bird or dead lizard near our doorstep. We too have our options on ways we could show them our love. Our love ensures their happiness and eventually their health and longevity; therefore, knowing some tips and trick could be a great incentive.

1. Spend Time With Your Cat.
As our days begin we grow busy, our minds are occupied with work, friends, meetings, lunch and everything else in between. However, for our cats, we become their only enjoyment, companion, and happiness. I tend to disagree that only dogs are capable of understanding humans; this is because scientifically it’s been proven that cats possess a higher sense of perception towards humans.
Therefore, take the time to rub your fluff balls belly and feed it some delicious treat. Play some games with it and brush its fur, these few moments of happiness spent with it will increase the bond between you and your pet cat.

2. Invest On A Scratch Tree.
Our feline friends are still by nature from the wild. Their hunting instincts become highly visible even in a homely environment, as they pounce and they stare at foreign objects. Their fear of strangers and their predatory instinct is what shows us by nature they’re still wild cats. Often times our furniture suffers in their tiny paws, as they scratch and sharpen their claws on them.
In the wild, wild cats often sharpen their claws on trees by scratching them on it; this allows them to latch on to their prey and eventually kill them. However, our cats at home replace the trees with furniture, which eventually destroys it. Hence, to save your furniture and to keep your cat happy, investing in a scratch tree would be the best solution.
This prevents our lovely felines from putting holes in our couch while still being able to scratch all night long.

3. Feline Freedom.
When I was in SPCA, most cats were kept in cages which were big however the didn’t provide the freedom they need. Therefore adopting one from the shelter allowed me to observe how freedom affects the active feline. Running around and having the freedom to be anywhere around the compound gave it the confidence as well as the comfort it was looking for.
Therefore, instead of cooping up your cat in the house, take it out for a walk or let it roam free around the house. Instead of putting your cat under lockdown, give it the freedom to express itself. Just as the saying goes, if you love something then set it free

4. Give Your Cat Great Health and Beautiful Mane
As much as our bodies are prone to illness, our cats are equally or more prone to diseases and infections. Cats are usually very sensitive towards parasites, such as fleas, ticks, and stomach worms hence keeping in mind its diet and hygiene plays an important role. Furthermore, it also ensures the health of your family members especially little children.
A monthly visit to the Vet as well as getting it spayed would be a great way to ensure its well-being. A trip to the vet ensures that your feline isn’t having any health complication and it treats them into a nice day of manny paddy. As they are treated with showers and grooming, at the end of the day, your cat shall look flawless.

5. Feed With Varieties of Flavors.
As much as we humans love food, we can be certain that our cats enjoy meals the same way. However, we often assume that their food doesn’t require much variety. We often times prefer serving the same food; dried biscuits and canned tuna which makes their appetite boring. A constant change of flavor allows your cat to feel excited during meal times.
Some may question if cats do notice the difference, scientifically it’s said cats do notice the difference in flavor. It’s become obvious with time as they start losing appetite and fur. Hence, a shuffling flavor allows your cat to anticipate food and avoid feeling depressed. In other words, a happy stomach equals to a happy cat.
