Its been a long time coming but I'm leaving this community.

There are a number of reasons for my decision. Firstly, the absence of thoughtful and worthy posts. There are so few competent posters on this board, its ridiculous. The reason I stopped lurking and started contributing was because of posts by people like Rayzorblades and Mr. Green Tea. Seasoned and rational, evidence-based occultists contributing for the purpose of sharing experience with like minded individuals. Those like minds are mostly gone.

But that was to be expected. In my inexperience of the time I had misjudged the nature of this board in its entirety. Such evidence-based occultists, I have learned, are a tiny minority on this board. Literally less then a dozen. The vast majority of the people have little to post, not because there is any particular character trait, but because they have no experience to contribute anyways.

The majority of major posters are new age fluffy bunnies. Their experience itself is extremely limited, and what there is based off purchases of the work of others. This kind of person is always buying the newest 'fad' product, always concerned why their results don't work as effectively as they want, and they usually end up throwing out metaphysics entirely (a pity) or becoming a new age preacher that lies through their teeth, extolling experiences and virtues they've never had solely through word of mouth.

Thus we have so many topics about the latest radionic machine, whether or not crystals work, gold crystal kundalini reiki attunements, and other bunk work. Any questions on these subjects are answered by such preachers with answers they heard from other people who in turn hail from some dark corner of the internet that would have better been left alone.

And this is a pity. Metaphysics have so much to offer. Radionic machines can work effectively, with correct training and ability. I've tried reiki myself following a straight and uncorrupted lineage from Mikao Usui, and I can confirm that it has so much to offer. As does magick, theurgical pursuits, qigong, and psi. But no newbie can make progress in this environment, bombarded by dozens of fluffy misinformed posts and without the hope of correction as the few experienced posters here, simply don't bother to spend much time here.

My final and most important reason for leaving is this is not a place where I can grow best. Over the last few years my practices have rocketed off, progress has been stellar and I've attained a wealth of experience in all areas of my life. I've more and more developed integrity, magickal ability, and spiritual progress(not so elusive as I once thought). My ducks are all lining up and it is, quite frankly, time to move on from this relatively low-value forum.

Towards a few of you, it was a pleasure. To most of you, get out of metaphysics until you can grasp the basics of your own lives. You do yourself and us no good and no benefit by striking your lower ego.

I close with a quote from one of the most proficient men in recent history, G.I. Gurdjieff: “I ask you to believe nothing that you cannot verify for yourself.”

Not that I don't agree with some of what you've said Alastan, but grandiose declarations of departure are kind of an old saw around the internet.

This is just another place on the internet, some of the information is good. Some of it is poop.

While I sure do wish some of the posters I enjoy were posting more often, I'm not about to start posting more often myself.

As you Alastan, using magic and psionics has made my life far too busy with the stuff I want to be doing to spend time on the internet talking about how I wish using magic and psionics would make that stuff happen.

C'est la Merde.

Xtrememind, Uncle Karl, and the rest are toys for amusement. We've all still got to put in the work ourselves.
