help! possible to undo rewind technique?

PostPosted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 10:48 pm    Post subject: help! possible to undo rewind technique? Reply with quote

I think i've accidentally screwed myself.

My obsessive fearful mind has run a bunch of posiitve feelings/memories backwards and now I perceive that they are somehow different / diminished.

Would it be possible to undo the effects of the rewind technique? If so, how would I perform this?

Another side would be that this is not possible and its all in my head, can someone please advise?

Thanks in advance!

Hi;
I'm not 100% sure of what you're talking about The rewind technique. It sounds like an N.L.P. technique.. You claim to be obsessive/fearful. Right?
The more you try to control something and get it right, the more fearful and obsessive you become. For now, simply accept what's happened. It's not the end of the world. Your fears are in a way removing those positive memories. If you are fearful that the rewind technique has removed the positive experiences, its the fear that is making it difficult to experience the good memories.
How can you experience something positive when you are worried???
I know that this can sometimes be difficult. Don't try to have a perfect execution of the process. Tell yourself the next time that you're doing the rewind technique, that it doesn't matter if it works. And really mean it. If you can develop that kind of mindset, when doing these techniques, you'll be less likely to shoot yourself in the foot.
In a nutshell, you're putting too much pressure on yourself to succeed. Adopt a playful attitude towards the method. Invite yourself not to be perfect. Remove the pressure.

Take the positive experiences and begin to associate good feelings to them. by anchoring positive emotions, and then firing them off when you think of the memory, etc.

There are a number of other techniques that you can employ.
