Hello there. I'm a new reader to this forum, obviously. I'm actually wondering (and yes I did search for this, but try sifting through 7 pages of results with no guaranteed relevance to the search query, lol) about binaural recordings/tones, and their successes or failures. More specifically, I downloaded a full copy of the Brainwave Generator, which I know is old, but was wondering how successful it has been or can be for some people. I am currently trying to awaken, or form, any powers I might have through meditation, and doing some similar research on the occult, among other things. Any and all input for the Brainwave Generator and Binaural beats in general, would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I have seen a CD collection about Brainwave Sound Journey that takes the Binaural Beats to the Theta Brainwave and puts it to meditative music. I can't link it >.< stores. thetarealms. net try that? I am quite interested in using it as meditation music. Any opinions on that as well?
If you want to learn to meditate, good. Binaurals can help you with that, by giving you some of the advantages of already having learned to meditate immediately and from the beginning. Learn the feeling of being entrained to theta, and you will gradually learn to bring yourself there without entrainment. You will always have your breath to focus on, and you may not have your MP3 player with you at all times. Many techniques for meditation are based on counting breaths or focussing on breath sensations in various parts of the body. Combining a meditation technique with the use of binaurals will help you get to the point more quickly where you no longer have to use entrainment to get where you want to go. 4 Hz would seem to be a good place to begin. The actual brand doesn't seem to matter very much. Given that you already have BW Gen, that will do nicely. I would suggest holding at 12 or 13 Hz for 6 minutes, then ramping down to 4 Hz over a period of another 10 minutes, then holding at 4 Hz for another 14 minutes. That gives you a 30 minute binaural. No need to ramp back up. You may want to create another binaural holding at 4 Hz for 5 minutes or so that you can add to the playlist for as many times as you would like, adding time to your daily meditation gradually and working up to a full hour. The 12 or 13 Hz is because you will be fairly close to that just from closing your eyes. It takes 6 minutes for a binaural to kick in. You can be sure that your brain will be in the right place so that it will follow the frequency when it ramps down gradually to 4 Hz. Why 4 Hz? I got that frequency at the forums Astral Dynamics from a question being asked of Robert Bruce about astral projection. This was the frequency he had suggested as being fairly close for most people. It was suggested as a starting point to experiment. Astral projection is a good place to begin to developing psychic abilities because of the changes it triggers in your energy bodies. You may also want to read some projection techniques for after you are familiar with the experience of being in theta and your use of a meditation technique has developed to the point where you can experience a similar state without the use of entrainment. _________________
Wow, thank you for the informational response! That was perfect. But yea, I've been looking into astral projection too. I used to have Lucid Dreams nonstop when I was a child as a result of recognizing a recurring nightmare. I've heard about Robert Bruce. It kind of freaked me out when I first heard of him, because that is my father's exact name, and he is completely close minded and against practicing anything metaphysical. Ah well, thank you again for your response.
In addition to everything TomSkinney said, I would like to add that if you are intending to develop Psychic powers through the medium of meditation, then please realise that brainwave entrainment with Binaural Beats (like Holosync, etc.) or even better, Isochronic Tones (which are more effective) is addressing just ONE pre-requisit for effective meditation.
There is actually 4 pillars to effective meditation (and subsequent Chi development which is ESSENTIAL if you want to awaken psychic powers). There is the brain aspect, which has already been touched upon.
Then there is the physical aspect: If you are feeling fatigued and physically sick, then meditation will prove to be difficult. Conversely, the more physical energy you have, the more you will be able to harness that energy into calming the body down (yes, that DOES require energy )
Then there is the Chi - energy - aspect. Which actually takes care of itself as you progress along in your meditation practice. You will find that the more Chi (Bio-energy) you cultivate, the easier it will be for you to meditate, and the more effective your meditations will be, which in turn will pave the way for the built-up Chi to be channelled into developing your psychic powers (through concentration on the "Third Eye" chakra, or via astral travel)
Then, finally (and importantly) there is the emotional aspect. Emotions have a very literal psychedelic effect on the body - and in turn - on your meditation. Whatever emotions arise - which could very well include upheavals of stored, negative emotions - then be sure to OBSERVE them without judging them as "good" or "bad" until they complete their life-cycles and die off like anything else.
This in turn will improve your meditations dramatically.
