I will try to play the tracks (layered) with Accelerated Learning (alpha waves) from EP3.
Thanks for the suggestion. _________________ i2w Willpower : Being unconquerable lies with yourself. | Focus : Do not see, but watch the seeing. | Visualizations : Stretch as the boundaries of the Universe.

As for getting a prescription.. It shouldn't be hard at all. Simply find a doctor willing to prescribe anything & everything to you; or develop a sudden condition. ^_-
Anyway, it depends on the institution I suppose, but usually you can find such drugs already in use by some of the more intelligent students.. Many of whom make a bit of money on the side by selling them to others. _________________ I Change My Dream Into An Ideal,

On the subject of Mozart, is Baroque music similar in effect. I have some Mozart CDs, so I was wondering if I could listen to them and get the same benefits or do I need the specific symphonies/concertos mentioned above?
Besides drugs....what food do you guys eat to improve your studies?

From what I learned in my music courses, 'Baroque' was a music era in which most of the music produced had the "Mozart effect" ie. resting heart rate, etc. 'Mozart effect' and 'Baroque music' are often synonymous. It's called "Mozart Effect" because he used it in most of his music, Bach also used it in his music, but not as much as Mozart....So yes, Mozart and Baroque will have the same effect....
Is there a specific track or type of music (symphony etc) that we must use to achieve the Mozart Effect? Is this similar to Tomatis? Thanks.
According to Super Learning book, any Mozart's violin concertos. Just choose what you liked.
Also, Handel, Bach and any Baroque composers. String instruments are much more effective like violin coz of its high-frequencies. Slow rhythm for relaxation and learning...fast upbeat for energizing or before learning.
Before buying any Baroque cd's, just check it out first coz some of them are opera theatre...and what you'll hear is a singing voices of opera singers and not the intented pure music for learning. My younger sister bought a set of volume of Mozart cd's only to find out that its an opera theatrical music and not the instrumental music. _________________ “Essence, Chi, and Spirit are the three jewels of life.”

I always recommend beans to my students. Many, like lima beans, have brain chemicals that facilitate focus. Just be wary taking beans before a date. You'd pass gassssss _________________ J. W. A. Rice, Ph.D

For focus & clarity, I take Japanese Reishi with Vitamin C. The clarity lasts for 6 hours. Plus, I enjoy the medicinal benefits of this anti-cancer mushroom.
For energy, I take Gynostemma tea leaves in capsules. Climbing the staircase up to 7 storeys in a few minutes is a snap, no wobbly feet. Gets a mild boner everyday. This tea has medicinal qualities too.
The only thing that bothers me is the drowsiness after a meal. (glucose) I have no solution as of yet. I'm getting old.
The throat friction technique helps a lot with focus (centering). _________________ i2w Willpower : Being unconquerable lies with yourself. | Focus : Do not see, but watch the seeing. | Visualizations : Stretch as the boundaries of the Universe.
Concentration is the Key. Try to focus on a candle flame and hold the image in your 3rd Eye.

I practise something similar : 3rd eye centering by Samuel Sagan (Clairvision)
2. Channel the essence (similar to Einstein Factor or Mirror someone knowledgeable) of what it is I want to learn....While listening brainwave at 6hz.
I didn't learn the Einstein Factor (don't have the books, would you please recommend some?). I use XtremeMind's Accelerated Learning CD from EP3, it's an alpha wave track. Produces a calming effect & bring me a peaceful, non-lethargic state when I'm drowsy.

You got to teach me this one!
5. Pre-read the material or flip through to get a feel for the book...
6. Photo-read
7. Speed-read
8. Allow time to absorb.
9. Consciously and Unconsciously apply "Mega Memory" by Kevin Treadeau
I use Mind Maps (from Tony Buzan, Inegmar Svantesson etc) to summarize what I read with keywords & associations, plus memory techniques from Dominic O'brien. No special reading methods though. Do they work? Please recommend your speed-reading books.

I re-draw the Mind Maps & practise the technical experiments to reinforce understanding (I.T. subjects).
You're one of the few who seem to be successful with Photoreading. I read the book & practised only the basics (tangerine method). It does seem to work, on & off.
The ebooks I have :
1971 Speed Memory - Tony Buzan
1986 Use Your Memory - Tony Buzan
1988 Super Creativity - Tony Buzan
1994 The Mind Map Book - Tony Buzan
2004 Learning Maps and Memory Skills, 2nd Edition - Inegmar Svantesson
1993 How To Develop A Perfect Memory - Dominic O'Brien
How to Develop A Super-Power Memory - Harry Lorayne
The PhotoReading Whole Mind System - Paul Scheele
The Mind Maps are a good find. They totally re-invent my notes-taking. I use it for studying, planning my work, etc, almost everything now. It's the "note-making" experience that reinforces association & understanding.
Still haven't found a suitable reading method & memory technique for technical subjects.
I sleep at 6pm, wake up at 12 midnight, study till 8am & work at 9am. Sleep immediately after I come back from work. It's a 18 hour cycle!
Still haven't found a suitable reading method & memory technique for technical subjects.
Hmmm... what about Harry Lorayne's books? Or Learningstrategies.com's PhotoReading? The techniques teach how to memorize and read rapidly even abstract concepts
Learningtstrategies is rather overpriced. $499 for a cd system that doesn't yield half the results it promises.

Run a trend that makes you feel libidous when you're near the right answer in a multiple choice exam. It should work. _________________ Just as the highest and the lowest notes are equally inaudible, so perhaps, is the greatest sense and the greatest nonsense equally unintelligible.
