Ganoderma lucidum boosts immune system & normalizes macrophage functions, allowing proper identification of pathogens/foreign bodies and their destruction. Commonly used as supplement to chemotherapy & immunity disorders (allergies, asthma etc). My personal experience : higher levels of alertness & calming attitude. Girlfriend experience recovery of minor skin rash on thigh after 1 week (she had it for 1-2 years). Sister's seafood allergy relieved on first day, full recovery after 2 weeks. She suffered for 1 month : huge rashes on neck, torso & thighs, to the point of bleeding due to relentless scratching. She got the rash after a seafood buffet

Ganoderma lucidum

Parts of interest (highly concentrated extracts preferred, as the natural form is indigestible.)

- Fruit body aka "the mushroom"
- Mycelium aka "the roots"
- Spores aka "the seeds"

Each part (mushroom, roots or seeds) have different active ingredients which works synergisticly with each other, leaving out any part is not as beneficial as the whole.

Active ingredient : Polysaccharides & Triterpenes. Understand that polysaccharides are soluble in water only, but not alcohol. So, the other active ingredients which make up the whole plant are extracted via alcohol. I would recommend to get both water & alcohol extracts.

IMPORTANT : Polysaccharides from Ganoderma lucidum cannot be easily absorbed into the body due to their molecular structure, Vitamin C (minimum 1 gram) must be consumed together with Ganoderma lucidum in order to break down the polysaccharides

I don't know much about these new herbs, but I've picked up bad rap on pharmanex. That's merely a glossy MLM arm of NuSkin if I recall. As we know, most MLM companies tend to sell crap.

I've discovered this site...it sells all Chinese herbs direct from China then processed in U.S. They have many herbs for different purposes.

I have not tried any of the herbs here, but I think they are good.
