This should have been in the General Banter section but I put it here, since it specifically refers to rad devices sold by XM.

Both Joey and Jobet are bringing out new products at an blistering pace. Many here want to upgrade to higher end devices, but in this recession, it is difficult to make big ticket purchases.

This might be accounting headache for the XM team + volatile $ exchange rates, but could it be a good idea for many people who want to upgrade to newer devices which have been launched.

Another advantage for buyer, should be that you get to lock in existing prices.

e.g if I want a PCHD, I could make $180 payments over 5 months and get delivery of the machine, once I have completed my payments. This is much easier than coming up with $900 in one shot.

What do other XMers think of this ? Please post your opinions.

I think if a layaway program would help people get this stuff then it's a great idea.
