Slowhand

People always say there's no better way to get success than to surround yourself with success. What better way is there to surround yourself with success than to become a personal assistant. Does anyone have any experience with being a PA or knowing how to jump into the field and be successful and landing a job? I'm currently in the Army and I want to land a career in this field when my contract is up.

There's a guy in Los Angeles who I read about called Gavin Debecker, who own's a private security firm. I would look into this, or at least aim your questions at him and see what type of responses you get. Some of the bodyguards in Hollywood, for some of the stars can make $1000 a day.

If you are serious about becoming a Personal Assistant and not a bodyguard, then you have to be able to anticipate the needs of another, be able to secure resources whatever they may be, be able to prioritize what they need to do, and be able to organize their life either personal or public or both. It can be a daunting task, yet you can become indispensible as a Professional "Right Hand Man."
