The sensations I get from clicking the amygdala and focusing on the third eye are pretty much the same. It's just that clicking the amygdala gets you there faster. I will often click on the amygdala to get the feeling fast and then immediately change the focus to the third eye. It seems to work pretty well. IMO, enlightenment is pretty much freedom from your chattering mind, and both of these techniques accomplish that.

Yes, the chattering mind is one of the worst things that can hold you back. It's that guessing, second guessing and vicious cycle of forever wallowing in self doubt that had me in mediocrity for a big hunk of my life.

Good thing I learned Zen. I easily silenced the chattering monkeys and from there discovered all these beautiful things, even the amygdala meditation.

I am a self admitted procrastiholic. I have found that whenever my mind is not where I want it to be the best thing to do is meditate. I find a quiet space and begin my breathing exercises and begin to clear my mind of my preoccupations. After I do this my discipline is at its pinnacle and I am able to take on whatever task I have been putting off with very little struggle.
