Discover the Magic of Positive Focusing

There is a fallacy that to hit our goal we ought to “think positive” all the time. No, we need not “think positive” 24/7. We don’t even have to imagine positively all the time. To triumph – to fulfill our personal quests – all we have to do is keep focused on our aspirations and keep moving to it.

Let’s say person X, person Y and person Z all set out for the same objective. They commence at the same place simultaneously. Person X is a positive thinker, person Y is a positive focuser, person Z is both a positive thinker and a positive, rabid focuser.

At the “Go,” person X decides to sit down and do a little positive thinking to help prepare for the journey. Person Y focuses on the goal and gets moving. Person Z gets moving, too.

Person X observes an area of unpositiveness within, and continues to sit, working hard to remove the “darkness” before initiating on the journey. Person Y does not like the road, hates the rules, dislikes the weather, abhors the planned lunch, etc., but keeps chugging toward the goal nonetheless. Person Z keeps fighting, too, while relishing the flowers, waving at travellers, singing, and thinking what good exercise all this movement is.

Now guess who hits the goal first? It’s a toss-up between Y and Z. Person X hasn’t left the starting place – but is feeling much more positive than before, thank you very much. If person Y and person Z arrived at the goal at the same time, then what was the point of all that positive focusing? Why bother?

Person Z enjoyed the journey, person Y did not. That’s the only difference. As long as we stay focused on our goal and continue moving toward it, we can have all the negative thoughts we want.

In terms of goals, what’s the difference? Well, if we were to ask Z, “How would you like to go toward another goal?” Z might respond, “Sure. That was fun.” Person Y, on the other hand, might reply, “I worked hard to get here. I want to rest for a while. Enjoy my victory.”

What’s the point? There are two. First, if your thoughts are not always sweetness and light as you move toward your dream, don’t worry. If you keep moving, you’ll still get to your Dream.

Second, as you move toward your goal, you might like to practice focusing on the positive along the way. You don’t have to “make something up” – you already have; it’s called your Big Goal – your dream! You need only look at what’s in front of you and find something there to appreciate.

Our lives are a combination of good and bad, positive and negative. It’s the best of times and the worst of times, all the time. When we focus on the good that’s already present, we feel better. If not, we don’t. Either way, life goes on. Keeping your mind on the goal and moving toward the goal is the essence of positive focusing.

Tense? Suffering incurable insomnia that a mound of Melatonin can’t cure? I used to sure your pain, you see, Im an obsessive compulsive. Thoughts ricochet my head even even past midnight. That racket prevents me from sleeping.

But I found the solution!

Let’s vanquish that Red-Eyed demon with an unstoppable 4-step approach that guarantees you sleep- in 30 seconds.

First, RELAX YOUR BODY. Lie flat on your back. Don’t curl. Imagine you’re floating on water. Allow the heaviness and undulation to wash over you.

Second, RELAX YOUR FACE. Be aware of your forehead. Your jaws. Release the tension in your teeth and lips. Allow them to touch.

Third, RELAX YOUR EYES. Lightly ease your eyes shut and have a sense of peace cascade over your eyelids. Float on a blank, unemotional sense of total detachment. And now the vital part….

Third, and most critically- BLANK OUT ALL MENTAL PICTURES. Imagine deep space. It’s a voice devoid even of echo. Fill your mind with that void. Wash your mental screen with pure unadulterated blackness.

Et voila! Followed those steps to the letter and you’d be snoring off in 30 seconds- far less time it would have taken you to read this article.

For me, sleep is critical. Sleep refreshes the mind and recharges the body. Without revitalization, you cannot achieve all the you desire to succeed at.

Treat yourself to quality sleep- and your waking hours with be fraught with success and productivity!

Sometimes my day goes bumpy from all the stresses of running the business, supporting the family and helping my fiance through school. Boy… can those periods take a toll.

But before I spiral into a foul mood, I begin broadcasting pure, unconditional love to all those around me and close to me. Something instantaneously happens like magic: my mood lifts and everything glows bright and sunny again.

Try Love Meditation… I picked it up from a great guy, Louis Yagera. He knows his stuff- and it works like a charm on crack!
